The widespread use of enzymes in specific industrial applications is limited due to the price of heterologous protein production and the short lifespan associated with free-enzyme catalysis. The use of enzyme immobilization technologies has greatly improved the scalability of these economically competitive biocatalytic processes. Our pre-packed PepTrap™ columns can be easily be integrated into existing biocatalytic industrial processes.

DexTrap
Immobilized Dextranase on PepTrap™
DexTrap combines the proven PepTrap™ technology with a high efficiency dextranse from Streptococcus mutans, which is capable of removing dextran in syrups. The DexTrap system is innately designed for rapid scale-up and large scale dextran hydrolysis, making it an ideal solution to tackle the expanding challenge of dextran contamination in sugar milling and refining services.
DexTrap is a pre-packed PepTrap™ with an immobilized dextranase. The DexTrap can efficiently and cost effectively remove dextran and levan gums from syrups.
GlucTrap
Immobilized B-glucosidase on PepTrap™
In the wine and juice industry, B-glucosidases play a role in the enzymatic release of aromatic compounds and natural sweeteners. The use of enzymatic hydrolysis has proven the most successful, albeit the most costly to the production line. The immobilization of specific enzymes for the treatment of juices and wine could add substantial benefits such as reduced opacity, reduced viscosity, increased total volume of usable juice, flavour enhancement and improved fermentation rates.
GlucTrap is a pre-packed PepTrap™ with an immobilized B-glucosidase. The GlucTrap is aimed at the wine and juice industry for flavour enhancement.
LacTrap
Immobilized B-galactosidase on PepTrap™
The immobilization of laccase has been demonstrated to overcome the limitations imposed by free-enzyme based systems. Our proposed LacTrap™ system is integrated into our scalable and modular PepTrap™ system. LacTrap™ provides a platform that can easily be integrated into existing industrial processes to rapidly catalyze a broad range of reactions, specifically the production of antibiotic derivatives and water purification.
LacTrap™ is a pre-packed PepTrap™ with an immobilized laccase. The LacTrap™ has applications in both water purification and the production of novel antibiotic derivatives.
