TRANSFORMING GROWTH FACTOR
BETA (BOVINE)
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Transforming Growth Factor Beta (TGF-β) acts as a potent multifunctional cytokine involved in a diverse range of biological processes
Natively, TGF-β is secreted in a latent form complexed with two other polypeptides, the latent TGF-β binding protein and the latency-associated peptide. The cytokine is then activated by the proteolytic cleavage of these two polypeptides, releasing the mature 112 amino acid TGF-β. It lends itself to muscle repair, embryogenesis, wound healing, connective tissue development, cell growth and differentiation, cell proliferation and apoptosis, and contributes to the regulation of immune responses.
Immobazyme's recombinant TGF-β is produced in the E. coli and purified using immobilized metal ion affinity chromatography.
